Family Newsletter

Dear Families,
We are having a lot of fun celebrating National Poetry Month by reading a wide variety of poetry books and even trying a little poem writing of our own!
We are also practicing computer skills.  Older grades are exploring the American Library Association's Great Websites for Kids, such as   Younger students are continuing to practice loging in, loging out, dragging, and choosing from a menu.
Links to many great resources/websites for students can be found on this site - just look in the left-hand sidebar under "Favorite Websites" and/or "Information Resources."
The LAST DAY for CHECK-OUT is May 31st, 2018.  All books are due back June 1st... or as soon as possible after that date.
IF your child has 1 or more LOST books, please send in replacement books.  Students and families are invited to send in ANY age appropriate books in good condition -- you do not have to replace the same title that was lost.  If you prefer to pay for a lost book with a check, please contact Mrs. Reynolds for the price.  Checks may be made out to "Egremont Elementary School."
  Thank you!
   Mrs. Reynolds

Other library news...
*Library Volunteers are needed!  If you have 45 minutes a week to come in and provide check-out support to our students during a class, PLEASE contact Mrs. Reynolds!  **We currently need a Thursday afternoon volunteer.**( or use the contact form on this page.) Our library desk runs very smoothly due to the dedication of our parent volunteers!  *All volunteers must be CORI tested and need to sign-in for each visit and wear a visitor badge while in the building.

OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY LOVES DONATIONS and would be happy to accept any age appropriate books that your children may have outgrown.  Just send them in to school with your child, or drop them off in the front office!  We will catalog donated books and put them into the hands of our many eager young readers :-)  **We will accept library book donations UNTIL SPRING BREAK.  After that, all book donations will be given to the Camp Vision book drive/sale.**

Thank you for loving your school library!

About Our Library:
Egremont Elementary School Library is located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Each of our 475+ students attend library classes once a week for 45-minutes. During library class, students have the opportunity to exchange library materials, as well as participate in each week's library skills or technology skills lesson.

The Library Media Center is home to a Mac lab that can support an entire class. Our students enjoy learning and practicing technology skills that will enable them to become digitally literate 21st century citizens.

The Egremont Library Media Center houses over 7,000 materials including books, magazines, and reference materials.

The Library Media Center is staffed from 8:30am - 3:30pm each day, Monday through Friday while school is in session. Classes visit the library on a fixed schedule.  Parents wishing to visit the library may do so -- but must enter the building through the main entrance, sign in at the office and wear a visitor badge.

Please email Mrs. Reynolds, librarian, if you have any questions or comments about the library program at Egremont School: or you may use the contact form on this web page.

Thank you!
